Patricia L. Boyer

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Patricia L. Boyer, 76, of Ironwood, passed away peacefully after a fierce battle with cancer on Thursday evening, Oct. 6, 2016, at Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield, with her family at her side.

Pat was born April 11, 1940, in Ironwood, daughter of the late John and Lucille (Piasecki) Kapets, and attended St. Ambrose High School, graduating in 1958.

After graduation, she attended Milwaukee Business Institute in Milwaukee.

She returned to Ironwood after retirement where she and her sisters, Kathy and Bonnie and niece, Tiffany, opened a resale shop called Uncommon Goods, where she worked until passing.

Pat was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She brought a ray of sunshine to all who knew her. Her strength and faith were so inspirational, she told her family that she was "so excited to see God." She was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be missed by so many.

Surviving are her children, Dean (Dawn) and Brian (Tanya), both in the Milwaukee area; six grandchildren, Dustin, Darin, Dylan, Devon, Abbie and Ella; brother, Dennis (Nancy) Kapets; sisters, Kathy Eklund and Bonnie Minkin; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her ex-husband, William Boyer; and two brothers-in-law, Daniel Minkin and Richard Eklund.

Per Pat's wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation in the St. Joseph Family Room at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Robb Jurkovich, celebrant.

Rite of Committal and interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.
