Carol J. Marti

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. - Carol Joy Marti, 80, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Pine Haven Christian Home where she was a resident for the last three years.

Carol was born in Mercer on Dec. 3, 1935, a daughter of the late Charles Krause and Bonnie Marti. She married Ray "Speck" Marti in June 1954 and together they raised four children, moving to Sheboygan Falls in 1964 after their youngest was born. Ray preceded her in death in 1983.

Carol was employed for many years as a housekeeper at the Budgetel and later at Lakeshore Display as an environmental services staff member.

In her younger years, Carol was an avid bowler and card player until she lost her eyesight to macular degeneration. She loved spending time with friends and family at the kitchen table over a nice cup of coffee or better yet, a cold Miller Lite. Carol loved to travel and experience new places but was always at home in the Northwoods and made as many trips there as possible.

Carol is survived by her son, Paul (Cheryl), of Oostburg, and their children, Paul (Katie), Chad (Emily) and Craig (Kathy); daughter, Julie (Richard) Roelse and their children, Mike and Brittany Rudebeck, Jake (Rachel) and Nick Roelse; and son, Kevin (Sara) and their children, Jacob and Sam. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Julia, Jack, Abby, Max, Stella, Aubrey, Parker, Brooklyn and Hunter; and sisters, Jan Schulze, of Campbellsport, and Bonnie "Boots" (Jon) Schlais, of Ironwood, and brother-in-law, Dennis Ahola, of Ashland.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by her son, Richard; her sister, Sharon Ahola; and brothers, Dwayne Krause and Frank Marti.

Inurnment will be in the Mercer Cemetery, with graveside services being held on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m.
