Ironwood - People gathered for the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church's salad luncheon held on Saturday.

A long table featuring many different salad fixings was set up in the front and could be seen right as one entered the room. The middle of the room had tables packed with people enjoying the food.

The event had much more to offer than just salad. Tables that featured everything from white elephant items to hand-made crafts and even baked goods lined the room.

Virginia Heczko explained that the event has been going on for more than 35 years and that each year the turn out is really good. "People wait for it, they love the mixture of salads," she said.

The proceeds from the event are split in half with part of it going back to the church and the other half going to the women's association to help with things like scholarships to church camp.
