Jeffrey Jay Brattrud

MONTREAL, Wis. - Jeffrey Jay Brattrud, 56, of Montreal, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, Oct. 27, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Jeffrey was born on Oct. 29, 1959, in Clear Lake, Iowa, a son of Gaylord Arthur and Shirley Lee (Klang) Brattrud. He attended Clear Lake High School and graduated in 1977. Jeffrey continued his education at Mankato State University and received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering.

He had a career in contract manufacturing and flourished at Burton Industries in Ironwood, Mich.

Jeffrey's most recent achievement was having an article that he had written published in Global SMT & Packaging in February 2016.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and Christ Lutheran Parish in Ironwood.

Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Lou Mann-Brattrud, whom he married on Oct. 25, 2016; a son, Dain (Melissa) Mann, and their children, Katlin, Cayden, Levi and McKenzie, all of Mason City, Iowa; his Norwegian son, Haakon Egge, Trondheim, Norway; a sister, Shelley Garlock, Iowa City, Iowa; a brother, Scott (Karo) Brattrud, Clear Lake; his brother-in-law, Mike (Becky) Mann, Monmouth, Ill .; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Mary Lou Mann.

In accordance with Jeffrey's wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Salem Lutheran Church, 333 E. Aurora St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Schumaker, Jerry Buttice, Zachary McCauley, Scott Brattrud, Jamey Francis, Charlene Mussatti, Cayden Mann Brager and Dain Mann.

Following the service, lunch will be served in the church fellowship hall.

Committal service and inurnment will take place Saturday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
