Julia Teresa 'Dooley' Vinoski

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Julia Teresa "Dooley" Vinoski, 86, a long-time resident of Ironwood, passed away Sunday afternoon, Dec. 4, 2016, after a brief illness.

Dooley was born on Jan. 12, 1930, in Chicago, a daughter of Richard Patrick and Hannah (Guiney) Cosgrove. At a young age the family moved to Lakeview, Ore. It was in Lakeview that she met and married Ed Vinoski. They made their home in a variety of places across the United States, including West Virginia, where her children were born.

Dooley was the baker and lunch lady at Ironwood Catholic High School for many years. She was very passionate about her job, having developed many friendships and earned the respect of her students and coworkers.

She will be greatly missed, but will always be held near to our hearts.

Dooley is survived by her husband, Ed; a daughter, Lucy Korhonen, Crystal Falls; four sons, John (Theresa), Green Bay, Wis., Steve (Cindy), Chelmsford, Mass., Jim (Volita), Grandville, and Rich (Carla), Green Bay; her son-in-law, Leroy Moats, Staunton, Va .; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kate Pitcher, Klamath Falls, Ore., and Joanna (Bill) O'Sullivan, Port Orford, Ore .; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; two daughters, Teresa Moats, on April 29, 2014, and Michelle Vinoski, on Aug. 25, 2016; her son-in-law, Gene Korhonen, on May 30, 2013; a sister, Norine Swingle; and a brother, Patrick Cosgrove.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley, Wis., with the Rev. Frank Kordek OFM, celebrant.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery, Connellsville, Pa.
