Sam R. Misuraco

HURLEY, Wis. — Sam R. Misuraco, 89, of Ironwood, Mich., died on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, in Hurley.

He was born May 14, 1927, in Hurley, the son of the late Vincent and Josephine (Bruni) Misuraco.

He met the love of his life, June Brown, and together they raised her three children and three of their own. June preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 2012.

He was the owner/operator of Sam’s Salvage Inc. on South Davis Road in Ironwood for many years.

He is survived by two sons, Robert (Doris Otto) Misuraco, of Ironwood, and Richard (Joan Johnson) Misuraco, of Plymouth, Minn .; June’s children, Margaret Abramson and Sandra Doney, both of Tecumseh, Mich., and Jack (Kathy) Brown, of Hurley; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Kasper, of Hurley, Gina Janeicski, of Appleton, and Mary Wiita, of Wakefield, Mich.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta Ranta; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Lee Misuraco; and many brothers and sisters.

A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Manny’s Restaurant, 316 E. Houk St., in Ironwood. Rev. Jean B. Rencontre will officiate. A celebration of life will follow.

Spring inurnment will be in the Sunset Acres Cemetery in Ironwood Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
