Wanda Lou Coonts Ringsmuth

KING, Wis. - Wanda Lou Coonts Ringsmuth, 74, formerly of Wakefield, Mich., Mercer and Wausau, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King near Waupaca.

Wanda was born on Sept. 17, 1942, in Cook, St. Louis County, Minn., the daughter of Orville Wilbur and Erma Lucille (Peterson) Coonts. She graduated from Cook High School and then attended Duluth Business University in Duluth, Minn., where she met and married Joseph D. Ringsmuth of Wakefield.

Wanda and Joe made their home in Wakefield from 1968 until the middle 1980s when their marriage ended. Wanda then lived in Mercer for a while before moving to Wausau to be near her youngest daughter.

Wanda was united in marriage to Gil Goulee. He survives and is a resident at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King.

Wanda loved to be around people and took pleasure in keeping up the spirits of all those around her. At the veteran's home, she assisted with printing jokes, celebrating everyday holidays and helping non-mobile people to church services.

Besides her husband, Wanda is survived by her three daughters, Dawn Ringsmuth, Alpena, Mich., Lynell Ringsmuth (Thad Shifsky), Golden Valley, Minn., and Victoria (John) Kuechmann, Wausau; five grandchildren, Ben and Mitchell Pempek and Cory, Susan and Kaitlyn Ringsmuth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Susan; a son, Joseph Jr .; and a brother, Kenton Coonts.

A graveside service will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield, in the spring.
