Larry Baldovin

HURLEY, Wis. - Larry Baldovin, 64, of Hurley, Wisconsin, succumbed to lung cancer at his home surrounded by family on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017.

Larry was born on Sept. 30, 1952, in Ironwood, Michigan, to Laurence "Enci" and Ruth Baldovin. He graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in 1971 and Superior Technical Institute in 1972. On May 26, 1979, he married his beloved bride, Betty Rouse.

After graduating, he worked with his father as a mason. Larry also devoted 28 years to a career in law enforcement, most of which was spent with the Iron County Sheriff's Department. Upon retirement from law enforcement, he worked for several years at Jacquart Fabric Products.

When he wasn't working and supporting his family, Larry loved fishing, being outdoors and fixing anything he could get his hands on. His love for life radiated in all he did.

Larry is survived by his wife, Betty, of 38 years; his daughter, Amy (Justin) Samarzia; his son, Jeff (Kelsi) Baldovin; his daughter, Angela (Jake) Noojin; a sister, Marie (Dave) Walta; mother-in-law, Marie Rouse; and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and brother in Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; father-in-law, Irving Rouse; and sister, Judy Garcia.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at Range Community Bible Church in Hurley. Pastor Dale Harris will officiate. Larry's family will receive relatives and friends at 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.
