Patricia A. 'Patsy' Grawey

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Patricia A. "Patsy" Grawey, 74, of Ironwood, died peacefully Tuesday evening, Jan. 24, 2017, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood, with her loving family by her side.

She was born Jan. 29, 1942, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Earl and Evelyn (Kozen) Hill, and attended local schools.

She was married to Delbert D. Grawey on June 28, 1958, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ironwood by the late Rev. Ambrose Matejik. Delbert preceded her in death on March 24, 2010.

Patsy enjoyed gardening, fishing, motorcycles and snowmobiling. She especially enjoyed spending summers camping at Lake Gogebic with family and friends. She was a kind and gentle person who possessed a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed.

Surviving are a son, Delbert (Vickie), Blaine, Minn .; three grandchildren, Deanna (Cory) Wicklund, Montreal, Wis., and Alicia and Wyatt Johnson, both of Blaine; three great-grandchildren, Makayla Constantini, Victoria Preli and Aijay Wicklund; a brother, Donald Hill, Ironwood Township; two sisters, Diane (Donald) Hamberg and Barbara (David) Aspinwall, both of Ironwood; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, William (Evelyn) Grawey, South Beloit, Ill., Morris (Donna) Grawey, Chatham, Ill., Gilbert Grawey, Rockford, Ill., Bonnie Grawey, Salem, Ore., Kathleen (John) Thorson, Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Maude Pauletto, Issaquah, Wash.

Besides her parents and husband, Patsy was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa Kurta; son-in-law, Louie Kurta; nephew, Darryl Hill; brothers-in-law, Allen and Gary Grawey and Bill Miller; and sisters-in-law, Lynda Hill, Alberta Smithson and Margo Miller.

Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Memorial services will be held Friday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Frank Kordek OFM officiating.

Rite of Committal and interment will be in Sunset Acres Cemetery, Ironwood Township, in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to HOPE Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 261, Ironwood, MI 49938.
