James Robert Gorshe

WATERSMEET, Mich. — James Robert Gorshe, 57, a long-time resident of Watersmeet, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 4, 2017.

James was born on April 12, 1959, in Detroit, a son of John and Dorothy (Jackson) Gorshe.

He worked various jobs throughout Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan; including owning his own trucking company at one point.

James spent many happy hours at the casino and enjoyed playing games on his computer. He was especially proud of his nieces and nephews and absolutely loved spending time with them.

James is survived by a brother, John (Cheryl), Watersmeet; three sisters, Susan (Joseph) Connors and Janette Pete, both of Watersmeet, and twin sister, Kathy (Chandran) Pillai, Waukegan, Ill .; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister and two brothers-in-law, Deborah and George Roberts and William Don Pete.

In accordance with James’ wishes, cremation will take place.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 8, at noon, preceded by visitation at 11 a.m., at Watersmeet Bible Church, E23640 U.S. 2, in Watersmeet, with the Rev. Gary Spurgeon officiating.

Luncheon will follow at the church.

His final resting place will be at Watersmeet Cemetery.
