Hurley boys, Ironwood girls second at Ashland

ASHLAND, Wis. - The Hurley boys were a close second and the Ironwood girls were runner-up as Ashland swept its home track-and-field invite, the Welker, Monday.

A chilly day with a strong wind off Lake Superior only got colder when it clouded up later in the meet.

The Midgets finished just eight points behind Ashland, 138-130. Ironwood was fourth with Mercer seventh.

Hurley's Isaac DeCarlo won the 100 and 200 dashes and he was first in the long jump. Teammate Kris Bluse was first in the 110 hurdles and Hurley's Luke Marczak won the 300 hurdles. Ironwood's Elliot Gudgeon was first in the 40...
