Sylvia Ida (Hedberg) Rydzinski

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Sylvia Ida (Hedberg) Rydzinski, 98, a resident of Ironwood Township, passed away early Thursday morning, May 11, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Sylvia was born on March 15, 1919, in North Bessemer, the 10th child of 12 to loving parents Andrew and Ida Marie (Jokela) Hedberg. Sylvia attended Luther L. Wright High School and graduated in 1936.

On June 27, 1942, she married her true love Edward Rydzinski. They were blessed with three children.

Sylvia is survived by a son, Gene, Ironwood Township; a daughter, Sue (David) Geyer, Ramsay; three grandchildren, Diana Ferguson, Ginger Rydzinski and Robert Rydzinski; her pet grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Austin Ferguson, Ella Neisz, Tegan Neisz and Preston Rydzinski; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Edward, on Dec. 11, 2002; a son, Steven, on March 22, 2011; and 11 brothers and sisters.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.

A committal service and interment will be at Sunset Acres Cemetery, Ironwood Township.
