John Jarvi Jr. Memorial Run held Saturday

IRONWOOD — The 20th Annual John Jarvi Jr. Memorial Run was held on Saturday morning under warm, sunny conditions with an estimated 95 entries.

Winning racers in the 5K overall runs were Nick Niemi of Ironwood and Joely Overstreet of Genoa, Ill. Winners in the 10K overall race were Carolyn Warren of Ironwood and Sam Dean of Ironwood. Dean Juntunen, of Mass City, Mich. was the winner in the Hand-cycle Division.

"It was a beautiful day to run," race director Ben Schmandt said. "I'm very thankful for all the volunteers from the Ironwood cross country team, their parents and the community volunteers for all their support in making this such a successful event again."
