Luisa P. Toni Hughes

TRENTON, N.J. - Luisa P. Toni Hughes passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2017, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton with her loving family by her side.

Born in Italy, Luisa was a long time resident of Cherry Hill, N.J., and also a part time resident of Hurley, Wis., before moving to Bordertown, N.J.

She was a graduate of the Hurley High School class of 1953. As a self sufficient woman, Luisa ran a luncheonette and candy store in Haddenfield, N.J. She also owned a clothing store in Vernon, N.J., and was a sales representative for Art Unlimited and covered the Eastern Seaboard in the garment industry. Hughes was the top sales representative for that area retiring in 2005 after many years. But her greatest joy in life was her family.

The daughter of the late Fulvio and Lina Toni, she is predeceased by her husband, Robert Hughes; and her brothers, Alfio Toni, and Joseph Francis.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Tony DiCinno, Dr. Lynn and Dr. Brad Fuhrman, and Lori and Michael Shockley; her grandchildren, Robert and Daniel DiCinno, Bethany and Samuel Fuhrman, Michael Jr., and Matthew and Stephanie Schockley; her great-granddaughter, Mila DiCinno; her sisters, Joanna (Bert) Saari and Kathleen Francis; her brother, James (Annette) Francis; aunts, Anna Cory and Rosemary Fontecchio; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Mary's, Hurley, on July 3, at 1:30 p.m., with Fr. Frank Kordek O.F.M. officiating. The family will greet visitors at 1 p.m.
