Vivian Saari

HURLEY, Wis. - Vivian Saari passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017, with her family at her side.

Vivian was born on Oct. 12, 1928, in Mercer, daughter of Herman and Ella Stone.

She enjoyed fishing, picking agates at Little Girls Point, playing cards, gardening, watching traffic from her porch swing and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. Vivian was a gentle soul with a contagious laugh and a heart of gold. She was very supportive of her family and loved them unconditionally. She was loved immensely and will be missed beyond words. The memories shared will be treasured.

Vivian is survived by her two sons, David Stone and Dean (DeeJay) Saari; one daughter, Kim (Ross) Kolesar; five grandchildren, Jessica (Cory) Mattson, Deanna (Cory) Wicklund, Ciera (Mike) Surprenant, Cord and Dillan Saari; eight great-grandchildren, Bryce, Cody and Kristopher Kirtland, Seth and Graylin Mattson, Victoria Preli, Makayla Constantini and Aijay Wicklund; one sister, Bette (James) Dierkes; a childhood friend, Margaret Helmers; numerous nephews and nieces; and her companion cat, Kitty.

She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Inis Vaughn, Virginia Casanova and Freda Jensen; brothers, Carl, Robert, Lloyd and Eugene Stone; and her good friend, Robert Huotari.

A private graveside family service will be held on Friday, July 28, at the Elmwood Cemetery in Antigo. Her nephew, Pastor Carl Roy Stone, of Arcadia, will officiate.

The family of Vivian wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital, Hospice, Community Link and Avanti for their support. A special thanks to Rev. Bill Jacobson, pastor of All Saints Lutheran Church in Wakefield for his kind words and family prayer.
