Family and faith brought great joy to Shirley. She is survived by her four children, Nan (Jim Stangel) Peterson, Scott (Kathy) Peterson, Todd (Gwynne) Peterson and Chris (Mark Davis) Peterson; six grandchildren, Lindsay (Joel) Stafford, Daniel (Shelley) Peterson, Justin (Elizabeth Dennison) Stangel, Griffin Stangel, Siena Casanova and Maya Casanova; two great-grandchildren, Collin Scott Stafford and Cooper Arthur Stafford; three brothers, John (Jack) (Greta) Longhini, Anthony (Kay) Longhini, and Dominic Jr. (Sandi) Longhini; many nieces and nephews; former spouse, John Gerald (Jerry) Peterson; and sister-in-law, Helen Peterson. She was loved immensely and our memories will forever be treasured. She was always supportive and so proud of her family; loving them unconditionally. Her love and vast knowledge of football and basketball amazed us; she was a true fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers. Her horse and numerous pets over the years added to the family memories.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Dr. Huang, the staff at the Heart Failure Clinic, and staff of Saint Mary's Care Center for their care and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood. Father Robb Jurkovich will be the celebrant.
