LAKE GOGEBIC - Saturday afternoon, on a bright and sunny day, supporters of the three-headed hydra that is the Gogebic Miners football team gathered together at Gogebic Lodge to eat grilled steaks with all the fixings and drink adult sodas. All three schools were represented in the donors and supporters class; but even more important, the athletic directors of two out of the three schools were captured shucking corn together and playing nice.

The fundraiser generates enough money to give one scholarship to a Miner every year, while also buying football equipment the team needs to compete. In the past the SteakOut has paid to send the team to a Northern Michigan football game and even purchased helmets. It is unknown what the coaching staff will identify as a need as of yet.

Tickets to the event were $100 for a couple and $60 for a single, unaccompanied person. The tickets included a rib eye steak with baked potato, corn on the cob and a salad was thrown in for additional measure. Happy hour started at 1 p.m., with dinner served on the hour from 4-7 p.m.
