Mary Ann Negri

WAKEFIELD, Mich. – Mary Ann Negri, 91, a long-time resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, Sept. 1, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born on Sept. 12, 1925, in Ironwood, the daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Raikovich) Pavlovich. She attended Luther L. Wright High School and graduated in 1944.

On July 3, 1948, Mary was united in marriage to Joseph Peter Negri at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ironwood. They were blessed with three children.

For many years, she was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wakefield and a dedicated member of the Immaculate Conception Women's Guild.

Mary was never happier than when she was in the company of her family and friends. She enjoyed hosting delicious meals at her home. Mary took great pride in sewing for her grandchildren.

She traveled to Europe and lived in Saudi Arabia for a short time.

Mary was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a grandmother who absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by a son, Joe (Karen) Negri, Pagosa Springs, Colo .; two daughters, Bobbi (Dave) Daignault, Coon Rapids, Minn., and Micki (Dennis) Sliva, Houghton; nine grandchildren, Rob (Hilary) Negri, Bridget (Andy) Woodman, Suzanne (Doug) Zeltinger, Kate (Matt) Shelton, Sarah Daignault, April (Jason) Tucker, Neil (Holly) Sliva, Tim Sliva and Maria Sliva; 15 great-grandchildren, Skylar, Aidan, Lincoln, Nathan, Lilly, Landon, Reese, Ainsley, Hudson, Ellis, Jack, Simon, Mary, Aiden and Matthew; a brother, Joe Pavlovich; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Joseph, on July 29, 2009; and four brothers, Nick, Mike, Milo and Tom Pavlovich.

The Negri family will meet with family and friends to celebrate a life well lived at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 407 Ascherman St., in Wakefield on Friday, Sept. 8, starting at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., with the Revs. Dominic Agyapong and Ben Hasse concelebrating. Also in attendance will be the Immaculate Conception Women's Guild Honor Guard.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place next to her beloved husband at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.

Luncheon will be served at the church hall upon return from the cemetery.
