Carol Jean (Schroeder) Bohn

RAMSAY, Mich. - Carol Jean (Schroeder) Bohn, 76, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at her home in Ramsay.

She was born to the late Arthur and Esther (Krieger) Schroeder in Kenosha, Wis.

Carol graduated from Salem Central High School in 1959. After earning her LPN and working on the pediatric floor at Kenosha Hospital for 22 years, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987. With that degree in hand, she moved to Lac du Flambeau, Wis., in 1988 and later to Ramsay in 2004, where she juggled part-time jobs with full-time dedication to her craft - creating jaw-dropping beauty on canvas as she established herself as a leading artist in the region.

Above all, Carol loved her family. She is survived by her son, Jeff (Pamela) Bohn; her daughters, Christina Bohn, Julie Jensen and Dana (Rob Warmouth) Sampson; her grandchildren, Brett, Dustin, Casey, Joshua, Alyssa, Ashley, Benjamin, Kristopher, Zachary and Alex; her great-grandchildren, Skyler, Aaron and Clayton; and her first great-granddaughter who is due in November. She is also survived by her brother, Arthur Schroeder; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and her many, many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jim and Roger Schroeder; her sister, Barbara Ohlfest; and her granddaughter, Kayla Sampson.

Carol loved nature and being in nature, whether on cross-country skis, a bicycle, snowshoes, kayak, in hiking boots, or her magnificent back yard.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Bristol Woods Park, Shelter Area No. 1, at 9800 160th Ave. in Bristol, Wis., at 11 a.m., with a luncheon to follow.

A Northwoods winter solstice celebration of Carol will take place on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at Camp Jorn in Manitowish Waters, Wis., at 6 p.m.
