GCC raises funds with truck pull competition

CANDY'S RIGGERS, a team from the Gogebic Range Health Foundation, tries unsuccessfully to recapture the top spot in Gogebic Community College's 18 Legs vs. 18 Wheels truck pull fundraiser Friday. Despite the team's best effort, it was unable to beat Extreme Tool's team, which was able to move the roughly 34,000-pound truck 20 feet in 7.28 seconds to win the competition.

IRONWOOD - People squared off against a semi truck - as well as each other - at Gogebic Community College Friday, as the college held the 18 Legs vs. 18 Wheels truck pull fundraiser.

Teams of nine used a rope to tow the college's semi truck 20 feet, with the team with the fastest time winning a trophy and bragging rights.
