Ontonagon women arrested after UPSET raid

Ontonagon — An Ontonagon woman who was arrested following the search of an Ontonagon residence was arraigned in Ontonagon District Court Wednesday.

Kathryn Hellen, 26, is charged with the delivery or manufacture of methamphetamine as the result of the search conducted by the UPSET West team’s search.

Bond was set at $100,000 cash.

A probable cause hearing is slated for Oct. 30, and a preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 6.

In conjunction with Hellen; Branden Monville, of Ontonagon, was held on a failure to appear charge in circuit court. He was awaiting arraignment on a bench warrant. His original charge was delivery of meth.

In an unrelated case, Dion Jolliff, 43, Ontonagon, was arraigned on two counts of delivery of meth. Bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.

Charles Copper, 61, White Pine, was arraigned Wednesday on a charge of attempted assault with a dangerous weapon. The arrest was the result of an incident in September in White Pine. Bond was set at $15,000 at ten percent.

In an unrelated court matter; Nicholas Derenzo — in a plea bargain — pleaded guilty to one count delivery of meth; one count possession of a dangerous weapon; and possession of cocaine, heroin and another narcotic less than 20 grams. Sentencing is set for Dec. 1.
