OMAHA, Neb. - Sophie R. Broslovik, 96, of Ironwood, passed away peacefully with her loving daughters by her side on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in Omaha, Nebraska.
She was born October 15, 1921 in Ironwood, daughter of the late Walter and Louise (Novak) Stanczak. Sophie attended Ironwood schools and graduated from the Luther L. Wright High School.
Sophie was a caring and loving person. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
On June 29, 1946, she was married to Stanley J. Broslovik at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ironwood by the late Father Francis X. Ronkowski. Stanley preceded her in death on January 2, 2008.
Stanley and Sophie made their home and raised their daughters in Evanston, Ill. In 1971, they returned to Ironwood.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Broslovik of Omaha and Sharon Sachse of Wilmette, Ill .; a sister, Tina Morgan of Ironwood; and many nieces and nephews
Besides her parents and husband, Sophie was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Stanczak; and sisters, Leone Damgard, Mary Boho and Lucille Suzik.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church at a later date. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.
