GILE, Wis. - Matthew C. Schutz, 44, of Kimball, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, in Gile.

Matt was born March 19, 1973, in Portage, Wis., son of the late John Schutz and Mona (Joyce) Tryggeseth, and attended Portage schools. He traveled and worked all over the country and worked locally driving his semi "Lucky Lynda" for Henning Trucking of Kimball. At the time of his untimely death, he was employed at Plunkett's Pest Control and Eagle All Sports in Gile.

Matt enjoyed hunting, fishing, all outdoor activities, and hanging out with family. He will be dearly missed.

On June 10, 2006, he was married to Crystal N. Henning at the First Presbyterian Church in Hurley by Pastor Don Nickolson. Crystal survives.

Also surviving are a son, Hunter Barden, Hendersonville, Tenn .; daughter, Taylor Schutz, who he called "Peanut," of Kimball; stepdaughter, Sami Laabs (Quinn), Kimball; stepfather, Lance Tryggeseth, Iron Belt; father-in-law, Michael Henning (Jean), Kimball; sisters-in-law, Cindy (Ken) Waldros, Saxon, and T.C. Henning (Terry), Gurney; brothers-in-law, Paul (Karen) Henning, Montreal, and Michael Henning (Roxie), and Dean Waldros, both of Kimball; uncles and aunts, Chris and Mary Schutz and Ron and Chris Wheeler, all of Portage; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Tim Scheele, Gile, and Dan Laabs, Bessemer, Mich .; and all of his pets.

Besides his parents, Matt was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Lynda Henning; and sister-in-law, Lisa Waldros.

A gathering in celebration of Matt's life will be held Thursday, Nov. 2, from 3 to 6 p.m., with a memorial service conducted by Pastor Don Nickolson at 5 p.m., at the Kimball Community Center, 5708 W. Center Drive, Hurley.
