Deanna Rae Saari

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Deanna Rae Saari, 70, of De Pere, passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at Wyndemere Memory Care after a courageous 17-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born Sept. 5, 1947, in Ironwood, Mich., daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Baker) Strick.

Deanna was a 1965 graduate of J. E. Murphy High School in Hurley, Wis. She went on to earn her associate degree in accounting from NWTC. Deanna worked as an office manager for Shinners & Hucovski accounting firm in Green Bay, retiring in 1998.

Deanna married Daniel Saari, May 6, 1967, in Ironwood. Together they shared 50 years of marriage and raised two sons. Deanna and Dan loved to travel together and with family and friends. She was an avid reader. She also enjoyed golfing and swimming in her backyard pool. First and foremost, Deanna was a proud mom and grandma.

Deanna is survived by her husband, Daniel; two sons, Dane (Kim) Saari, and Darin (Sarah) Saari; two granddaughters, Ericka and Megan and a sister, Marilyn Zeller. She is further survived by her niece, Christine (Ricky) Lemmens; a nephew, Richard (Kristy) Parma; special friend, Sharon Humblet; numerous in-laws and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Laurel Strick.
