Dorothy Mae Cerrito

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Dorothy Mae Cerrito, 89, of Little Canada, Minn., peacefully passed away on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Our Lady of Peace Hospice Care Center, St. Paul, Minn., surrounded by her daughter and grandchildren.

Dorothy was born April 8, 1928, in Bessemer, Mich., the daughter of the late William and Gladys Walls. She attended school in Bessemer. Following graduation, she moved to Chicago for employment where she met her late husband, Paul John Cerrito. On June 8, 1952, they were united in marriage in Bessemer, where she resided until August of 1991, when she moved to Little Canada to be near her grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Walls; and her two sisters, Betty Salmela and Marilyn Matiska.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Grabrick; her grandchildren, Becky and Paul Grabrick; sisters, June Bulinski and Judi Bergquist; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She shared an extremely close bond with her grandchildren who were her world.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the amazing nurses/care team at Our Lady of Peace Hospice Care Center for the exceptional personal care they gave to our mother and grandmother. Their kindness and compassion meant a lot during this difficult time.
