Wakefield Library plans story time on Saturday

WAKEFIELD — A story time for children of all ages will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Wakefield Public Library.

Christmas stories will be featured along with activities and a craft. A snack will be provided.

Ironwood Area School sets holiday concerts at theater

IRONWOOD — The Historic Ironwood Theater will host two Ironwood Area Schools holiday music concerts in the coming days.

The IAS band concert will be Friday at 7 p.m. The Accent! show choir concert will be Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m.

Oma, Carey residents to gather for potluck dinner

OMA, Wis. — Town of Oma and Carey residents and friends will gather Saturday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Oma Town Hall for a potluck dinner followed by a sing-along Christmas pageant and a special guest. 

There’s no need to RSVP, according to organizers, “bring a dish to share, and celebrate this holiday season with your neighbors.”

Wolverine Ski Trails plans ladies lunch, ski lessons

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP — Wolverine Ski Trails will host a Ladies’ Lunch and Ski Lesson on Saturday, Dec. 16.    

The session is aimed at beginner to intermediate skiers to work on technique with instructors for eitherclassic striding and-or skate skiing.

“Develop a ski technique foundation and boost your confidence,” said Deb Leonard. “Get some pointers to break those bad habits. If you ski the way you have always skied you will not advance as a skier.”

Skis, boots and poles will not be provided. A lunch of vegetarian soup and salad will be served after skiing.
