Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties

Jack Frost parade winners announced

IRONWOOD - The Ironwood Chamber of Commerce posted the winning entries in Saturday's Jack Frost Parade on its Facebook page Monday.

This year marked the first time the entries were split into non-motorized and motorized categories.

Chamber Director Michael Meyer told the Daily Globe this was done to balance the competition between those who invested considerable time decorating their floats and those who performed some kind of routine or simply walked in the parade.

The Iron County 4-H Green Team took first place in the non-motorized category with some club members dressing as robots, Next Generation Dance took second place and the HOPE Animal Shelter animals took third.

In the motorized category; Cub Scout Pack No. 323 took first place, Snow Country Contracting took second and the Gogebic Range Robotics Team took third.
