Aspirus Ironwood Hospital tree lighting brightens night

WHILE THE wind whips the flag into a frenzy, the Tree of Love with its 742 lights and the Celebration Tree were plugged in for the winter on the grounds of Aspirus Ironwood Tuesday evening.

IRONWOOD - For 27 years running, the Aspirus Ironwood Auxiliary has held a Tree of Love lighting ceremony on the hospital grounds to remember loved ones. The ceremony kicked off with a dedication by Paula Chermside, chief executive officer, followed by the tree lighting. The Tree of Love is clothed in dazzling white lights and the Celebration Tree next to it is bathed in color. According to Dave Sim, Aspirus public affairs, the Tree of Love this year has 742 lights, which is around the usual number of lights.
