WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Joseph Edward Taconelli, 58, of Wakefield, joined his parents in heaven on Dec. 9, 2017. Joe was born on June 13, 1959, in Detroit to Christine (Flowers) and Pietro Tacconelli.
"Joe T" had a wonderful life, a "forever child" who spread happiness and joyful mischief to all those around him.
Joe is survived by his brother, Peter (Vera) Tacconelli, of Ironwood, sister Patty (Bill) Ellwanger, of Page, Ariz., nephew Peter (Trista) Tacconelli and their children Pietro, Connor, Mason, David and Rylie, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and niece Kristin (George) Frazho and her children, Karragan and Kinsey, of Mancelona, Mich., and his former sister-in-law and "buddy" Dora Kelsey, of Houghton Lake, Mich., and numerous relatives in lower Michigan who shared their lives with Joe during his childhood.
Joe also enjoyed a special and loving bond with his extended family members, Karla Magdziak, of Eagle River, Wis., and her son, Adam, Lisa (Bill) Leppala, of Ironwood, and their children, Addison, of Ironwood, Jay (Shelby) Higgins and their son, Bowdy, of Butte, Mont., Carli (William) Mahai, and their children, Prudence and J.T. of Duluth, Minn.
The Tacconelli family wishes to extend their utmost appreciation to all the amazing staff for their loving care and respect for Joe at Gogebic Medical Care Facility, Aspirus Ironwood, Essentia Health- St. Mary's, Duluth, Highline Corporation, Special Olympics of Wakefield and Community Mental Health.
Also a special thank you to our past and present staff and friends of Tacconelli's Downtown and Tacconelli's of Bessemer who protected and cherished Joe as a friend and buddy.
We are better people for sharing our lives with Joe, and we know he taught us more about finding joy in life and what truly matters than we could ever teach him. Soar with the angels, Joe T.!
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Joe's incredible life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to any of the wonderful organizations listed above.
