Joyce A. Moren

IRONWOOD - Joyce A. Moren, 77, of Ironwood, died peacefully Friday afternoon, Dec. 15, 2017, at home, with her loving family by her side.

The former Joyce Carli was born June 5, 1940, in Ironwood, daughter of the late John and Anna (Sekelsky) Carli, attended Ironwood schools and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1958. She was employed at Big Powderhorn Mountain, Munsingwear, and as an aide at Josephson Nursing Home, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed baking and cooking and loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.

She married Gerald E. Moren on Sept. 18, 1959, in Duluth, Minn. He survives.

Also surviving are a son, Rick (Toni), Land O'Lakes, Wis .; daughters, Brenda (Martin) Rose, Hermantown, Minn., and Paula (John) Windt, Pence, Wis .; eight grandchildren, Kim Peterson, Melissa Madgziak, Crystal Buccanero, Ashley (J.R.) Blount, Kayla (Eric) Hostetter, Dillon (Shiann) Windt, Taylor Fanning and Zach Hannu; six great-grandchildren, Landon, Olivia, Lily, Jacob, Whitney and Maya; son-in-law, Terry Hannu, Ironwood; sisters, Nita Kangas, Duluth, Kathleen Pertile, Bessemer, and Peggy Cramblit, Ironwood; sisters-and brothers-in-law, Audrey Carli, Stambaugh, Mich., Nancy (Lloyd) Jacobson, Ironwood, and Judy (Ken) Bashara, Merrill, Wis .; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by a daughter, Patty Hannu, a daughter in infancy and twins; son-in-law, Fred Fanning; and two brothers, Dale and David Carli.

Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, in the St. Joseph Family Room at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood. A funeral liturgy will be held in the church at 11 a.m., with Deacon Bob Hamen officiating.

Luncheon will follow in the parish hall.

Rite of Committal and interment will be in Sunset Acres Cemetery, Ironwood Township, in the spring.
