Ruth E. Perry

RAMSAY, Mich. – Ruth E. Perry, 94, a long-time resident of Ramsay, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 26, 2018.

Ruth was born on Jan. 19, 1924, in Portage Township, a daughter of Henry and Anna (Wayrynen) Antilla. She graduated from Jeffers High School in Painesdale.

On Aug. 2, 1941, Ruth was united in marriage to William T. Perry at the Methodist parsonage in Hancock by the Rev. Milton H. Bank.

She was a supporting member of the United Methodist Church in Wakefield and was a dedicated nurse’s aide at Divine Infant Hospital for many years.

Ruth is survived by a son, Ronald (Iris), St. Clair; a daughter, Diane (Gary) Miljevich, Ramsay; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous dear nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Bill, on Sept. 10, 1997; two sons, William, in 1942, and Douglas, in 1968; two brothers, Eldon and William Antilla; and three sisters, Lila Whisler, Helen Smith and Jean Seppanen.

The family is honoring Ruth’s life in a private funeral service. The Rev. Ted Trudgeon, pastor of the Wakefield United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bessemer, in the spring.
