Tracy Lynn (Corbley) Niehaus

HURLEY, Wis. - Tracy Lynn (Corbley) Niehaus, age 45, of Mercer, Wis., passed away on Jan. 28, 2018.

Tracy was born on Feb. 10, 1972, in Joliet, Ill., to James and Sandra (Pierson) Corbley. She was a graduate of Hurley High School. She later graduated from Northland College in Ashland with a bachelor's degree in education.

On May 21, 2005, she was united in marriage to Bill Niehaus at St. Isaac Jogues Church in Mercer. Their marriage united Tracy, Bill and her son, Jim, as a family. Later, their son, Ayden, joined the family, first as their foster son and later, he was adopted by Tracy and Bill.

In her younger days, she was employed with her family business, Lake's Distributing and Pine Lake Lodge. On July 3, 2003, she joined the Iron County Sheriff's Department as a dispatcher. She loved her co-workers. She also loved helping friends and family and could always be counted on by those in need.

Tracy loved time with her family and hosting outdoor cook-outs for her family and friends. She loved the outdoors, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. She was a proud participant in the Book Across the Bay, Stormy Kromer and the Noquemanon Ski Marathon in Marquette. She was very happy to have placed in her class, but often joked about how she was passed by elderly women and kids on the way to her victory. She enjoyed camping at Saxon Harbor and morning coffee on her deck while watching her boys fish off the dock. On a warm spring day, she could often be found sitting on the porch in the sun, watching the snow melt. She also loved her dogs and loved playing fetch with them.

She was a proud mother and was very proud of her son, Jim, as he journeys through life.

Tracy and her love will be sadly missed by her husband, Bill, her children, Jim and Ayden, her mother, Sandy Corbley, her brothers and sister, Father Timothy Corbley, of Colorado, Tana (Paul) Osterman, of Hurley, Tom (Delia) Corbley, and Todd (Beth) Corbley, all of Green Bay, Wis. She is also survived by Bill's family, his mother, Barb, and his sisters, Dawn (Steve), Bonnie (Tim) and Doreen (Joe), as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father James L. Corbley and her father-in-law Robert Niehaus.

Visitation for Tracy will be on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 404 Iron St., in Hurley. Mass of Christian Burial will be at the church at 11 a.m. with Father Frank Kordek, OFM officiating.

Ketola-Burla Funeral Home in Ironwood is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Tracy's name.
