Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties

Snow advisory issued for today

A winter weather advisory was in effect for five northern Wisconsin counties until 9 p.m. today, including Iron County.

The National Weather Service said 3 to 6 inches of snow might create slippery driving conditions.

Gogebic County was also included in the snow watch, although the snow might be slightly less.

Bayfield, Ashland, Sawyer and Price counties were also in the weather advisory area, with the cities of Washburn, Bayfield, Ashland, Hurley, Hayward and Phillips likely to be affected.

Drivers were cautioned to be prepared for reduced visibilities at times during the day.

Today's forecast for Ironwood called for snow showers accumulating later on in the day, with a high of 12 and east winds from 5 to 10 miles per hour, followed by bitter cold Super Bowl morning.
