Jerome 'Jerry' Springhetti

DELAFIELD, Wis. - Jerome "Jerry" Springhetti, 90, entered eternal life on Jan. 29, 2018, at his home in Delafield.

Jerry was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Bessemer, Mich., to the late John and Louise (Barto) Springhetti. After high school, he joined his brother, Jack, in Pontiac, Mich., to work at General Motors for three years. He married Mary Jean (Schomisch) in 1949 and they made their home in Hurley, Wis., where he worked 37 years as a Standard Oil agent. He was a director at the Hurley Iron Exchange Bank, charter member of the Hurley Eagle Bluff Golf Club, former member of the Hurley Volunteer Fire Department, member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley, and a member of the Hurley Knights of Columbus. Jerry was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden. He and Mary Jean were well known at local polka dances.

Jerry was a man who valued family and moved to Delafield in 2015 to be closer to his children. He enjoyed the time he spent with them. Jerry was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Mary Jean, and their beloved children, Raymond (Brenda) Springhetti, of Sheboygan, Susie (Gary) Klimek, of Waukesha, and Joseph (Jennifer) Springhetti, of Oconomowoc. He is also survived by five cherished grandchildren, Michael Springhetti, Nicholas Klimek, Deborah (Daniel) Brezgel, Angela (Matt) Wedemeier, Daniel (Amy) Springhetti and seven treasured great-grandchildren, Samantha, Madeline, Calvin, Brodie, Riley, Madison and Cooper. He is further survived by brother Jack (Mary) Springhetti, sister Marilyn Fishel, and brother David (Bonnie) Springhetti, brother-in-law Daniel Schomisch, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Bernadine Aqua, brothers-in-law Louis Aqua and Don Fishel, sister-in-law Betty Schomisch, and father and mother-in-law Ray and Ruth Schomisch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, W359 N8512 Brown St., Oconomowoc, Wis., at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17. Jerry's family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the Mass.

Private interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Hurley this spring.
