Raymond Don Kivi

KIMBALL, Wis. - Raymond Don Kivi, 80, a lifelong resident of Kimball, passed away Sunday evening, March 25, 2018, at his residence.

Raymond was born on Aug. 24, 1937, in Kimball, the son of Louis and Tyyne (Maki) Kivi.

On Dec. 5, 1970, he was united in marriage to Frances D. Williams at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Ironwood.

Raymond owned and operated Northern Drywall and Painting Contractors for 25 years. He then went to work as a heavy equipment operator for various local companies. Raymond concluded his working career at the Iron County Forestry Department.

Raymond was very proud to be the supervisor for the town of Kimball for 25 years.

He was a past president of the Saxon Harbor Boating Club and a past member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

His hobbies included fishing and hunting. Raymond spent many happy hours fishing on Lake Superior. In his free time, he was a mechanic on boat motors at Saxon Harbor and at his home.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Fran; children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen Rantanen, and several nieces.

In accordance with Raymond's wishes, cremation will take place.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 31, at 1 p.m., preceded by visitation at noon, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 W. Midland Ave., Ironwood, with the Rev. Lisa Ubbelohde officiating.

At the family's request, please, no flowers.
