Dr. Donna M. Cataldo

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Dr. Donna M. Cataldo, 45, of Ironwood, Mich., passed away with her loving family by her side on Saturday, March 31, 2018, in Milwaukee.

She was born November 21, 1972 in Royal Oak, Mich., daughter of Sam and Barbara (Volansky) Cataldo. Donna attended the Bailey Lake Elementary School and Sashabaw Middle School in Clarkston, Mich. She graduated from Marian Catholic High School in Birmingham, Mich. with the class of 1990. Donna attended Michigan State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology with Honors. She attended the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit where she received a Doctor of Medicine. Donna served her internship at Beaumont Hospital and her radiology residency at Detroit Medical Center. She was employed in private practice at various hospitals. Since 2004, she was employed by Aspirus Grand View in Ironwood. As a radiologist, her exceptional diagnostic skills were responsible for saving many lives.

As a young girl and into her teens, Donna was a serious ballerina. She trained in Houston, Chicago and Pennsylvania as well the School of American Ballet at the Lincoln Center in New York. She enjoyed biking, triathlons and ski racing. She especially enjoyed fishing for salmon with her family on Traverse Bay in Lake Michigan. Recently, in November, Donna earned her purple belt in karate.

She was an active member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. She served on the Board at All Saints Catholic Academy and was very involved in charitable work.

On August 23, 2008, she was united in marriage to Dr. Enrico "Rick" Braucher on Mission Point in Traverse City. They were blessed with two daughters, Maddie and Cristina, Rick and the girls survive.

Also surviving are her step-children, Leah, Rico and Elisabeth, a sister, Cristin Cataldo of Brighton, Mich., parents Sam (Barbara ) Cataldo of Bellaire, Mich., a mother-in-law, Anna Braucher of Chicago and many friends, relatives and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 5, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood. Rev. Robb Jurkovich will be the celebrant.

Donna's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday evening, April 4, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St. in Ironwood. A rosary and vigil service will be held at 7:15 p.m. Visitation will also take place from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass in the St. Joseph's Family Room at Our Lady of Peace on Thursday.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.
