Robert Richard Klotter

ANTIOCH, Ill. - Robert Richard Klotter, Jr., 52, of Antioch, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 27, 2018, in Lindenhurst.

He was born Dec. 12, 1965, in Melrose Park. He attended grade school in Mercer, Wis., graduated from Grant Community High School in Fox Lake and attended DeVry University.

A selfless person who would give the shirt of his back to anyone in need, Robert was known to be a jack-of-all-trades and master-of-all. He enjoyed tinkering with thrift shop finds and was a true Mr. Fixit and Mr. Technology. He loved all dogs, especially his dog, Little Girl, and Fantasy Football (often being a "winner.")

Most of all, he was an amazing father who loved to spend time with his children. Robert loved to fish, and enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and coaching his children's baseball games.

Survivors include his children, Austin, Hunter, and Taylor; mother, Rita (stepdad, Larry Jokipii) Klotter (nee Miller); mother of his children, Rebecca Klotter (nee Schmoldt); significant other, Beth Ann Yount (and her children, Brendon, Braydon, Baron, and Bode Yount); uncle, Herb (the late Deborah) Klotter; aunts, Linda (the late Donald) Miller-Smith and Marie (Anthony) Cuzzone; cousins, Anthony Cuzzone and Denise (Patrick) Grabowski; second cousins, Isla and Bryyn Grabowski; former mother- and father-in-law, Rose and John Schmoldt; nephew, Tristan Schmoldt; and his best friend and fishing buddy, Daryl Kantner.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa "Mercer" Miller and Herbert and Antoinette Klotter; and brother-in-law, Bryan Schmoldt.

Memorial visitation will be Wednesday, May 2, from 3 p.m. until a brief prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road in Fox Lake. Burial will be held at a later date in the Mercer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Robert's name may be made to the American Heart Association, heart.org, or 800-AHA-USA1.
