Former treasurer's sentence adjourned

BESSEMER — Former Ironwood Township Treasurer Jyl Renee Olson-DeRosso was scheduled to be sentenced Monday, however Gogebic County Circuit Judge Michael Pope adjourned the sentencing.

Pope’s decision came after a defense motion requesting the adjournment, according to court documents.

“We opposed the motion and the judge granted the request,” Gogebic County Prosecutor Nick Jacobs said. “Sentencing will be scheduled at some point in the very near future.”
