Ironwood students meet animals

IRONWOOD KINDERGARTENER Paisley Gronseth combs a calf outside the Luther L. Wright K-12 School Friday. The calf was one of several farm animals the Gogebic County MSU-Extension and 4-H program brought to the school.

IRONWOOD — Rather than a field trip to a farm, the farm came to Ironwood’s Luther L. Wright K-12 School Friday, as Gogebic County’s Michigan State University-Extension office and 4-H program brought a menagerie of farm animals for students to interact with.

The district’s elementary school students had a chance to feed, pet and brush the animals — including calves, sheep, chickens, rabbits and goats.
