Ironwood - Santa needed his shorts and T-shirt Sunday at Cold Iron Brewing, as the Gogebic Range Health Foundation held its Christmas in June annual fundraiser.

Featuring food, music, raffles and games; the health foundation's event raised funds for a variety of local causes.

"(Things) are phenomenal, it's great," foundation executive director Candy Pogliano said.

The money will goes toward the Iron County Cares program, Santa's Headquarters and various food banks in Iron and Gogebic counties.

"That's our Christmas theme," Pogliano said, referring to some of the causes getting money.

Program director Andrea Newby joked the day of the fundraiser, June 24th, is also fitting for the Christmas theme.

This is the second year the foundation has held the fundraiser, according to organizers, with different charities picked each year.

While money was still being raised and the final numbers weren't close to being calculated, Pogliano said the foundation has a goal of raising over $10,000.

"We pre-sold 180 tickets, and I don't know how many we sold at the door so far," Pogliano said. "Last year, we sold 100 at the door, so we're thinking it could be that amount."
