HURLEY, Wis. - On June 21, 2018, at 12:30 a.m., Evelyn Jeanne Lundberg, 80, crossed the river into the arms of her Heavenly Father. She fought the good fight and completed the race.

Evelyn was born in Medford on Aug. 22, 1937. She obtained her bachelor's degree in primary and secondary education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

She married David Lundberg on Dec. 23, 1960. They moved to the Montreal area in 1965 and began running Whitecap Mountains in 1966, where she remained until her death. David and Evelyn have had an outreach to ski clubs, high schools and church groups throughout their business career.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, David, who remains at Whitecap Mountain. They have three children, Timothy David, Todd Carl (Linda Pfister) and Gretchen Jeanne (Richard Carroll). She is survived by two sisters, Ellen and Edith.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Norman, who passed away in a plane crash.

A service to remember Evelyn's life will be held Saturday, June 30, at 1 p.m., with family and close friends. There will be a light luncheon and open visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Whitecap main chalet.

A special thank you is extended to the Villa Maria Nursing Home, where Evelyn received tender loving care from the staff in her last 3 months of life.
