MERCER, Wis. - Despite the inclement weather, people came out in droves to shop and browse amongst the 250 exhibitors at Wednesday's 38th annual Loon Day celebration in Mercer. There was something for everyone from the loon-calling contest, an abundance of food choices, music, dancing, wood carving demonstrations, bubble blowing, sidewalk and bake sales, face painting for kids, a flea market, raffles and much more.

The award winning Lakeland Barbershop Chorus entertained the crowd as well as the Lakeland Cloggers. A highlight to every Loon Day is the loon calling contest which Chamber of Commerce member Kelly Kohegyi emceed.

Exhibitors apply to the Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce in order to take part in Loon Day which is held each year, the first Wednesday in the month of August.
