IRONWOOD — While the Old Depot building escaped damage, Ironwood Chamber of Commerce Director Michael Meyer said it could have turned out a lot worse after someone started a small fire under the covered area in front of the Chamber of Commerce office Thursday night.
“It was such a dangerous thing to have occurred,” Meyer told the Daily Globe.
He said while the pavement was brick, it was under the painted wood ceiling and a spark could potentially have led to the historic building catching fire.
