  • Aspirus to convert Ontonagon hospital to rural health clinic

    WAUSAU, Wis. — Aspirus Health announced Tuesday that major changes are coming to two of its locations in the Upper Peninsula, including transitioning Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital into a rural health clinic and a $30 million renovation and expansion of Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.   • GOISD debuts 'Chalkboard' podcast

Its podcast, called “The Chalkboard,” is part of what Alan Tulppo calls the district’s “multifaceted means of sharing news.” As superintendent of GOISD, Tulppo explained the approach in a Feb. 16 interview with The Globe. “We, as the ISD, felt that we’re providing a lot of services and classes that we wanted to raise awareness of with parents and the public,” he said.... Full story

  • Wakefield 'Family Fun Day' replaces fishing tournament

The event was in lieu of the annual fishing tournament held by the Wakefield Volunteer Fire Department. A mild winter made that activity impossible. Born in Milwaukee to Audrey June (Chipman) Marshall on Sept. 5, 1956, Linda was raised in Montreal, and later resided in Illinois, Minnesota, Oklahoma, California, and Virginia before returning to Wisconsin.
