    BESSEMER — The Gogebic Conservation District completed some inportant invasive plant eradications in 2018, according to its annual report. James Wojcik, chairman of the board of the district, said, “We obtained two grants from the Gogebic Resource Advisory Committee, the group that helps award U.S. Forest Service funding for projects in Gogebic County.” One of the grants covered eradication work on infestations of garlic mustard in the Ironwood-Bessemer area.     HURLEY, Wis. - Guy Richard Tilton Sr., 67, of Hurley, passed away on Jan. 10, 2019, at his home. Guy was born on Sept. 25, 1951, in Ironwood, Mich., to William James Tilton and Rosemary (Wiita) Tilton. He was a 1969 graduate of J.E. Murphy High School. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong construction worker. He enjoyed time with his family and was especially proud of his grandson, Kaden.     WAKEFIELD, Mich. — Genavieve O. (Dalbeck) Nurmi, 85, a longtime resident of Wakefield, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 9, 2019. Genavieve was born on March 31, 1933, in Crystal Falls, a daughter of Clarence and Betty E. (Minier) Dalbeck. She attended Wakefield High School. On June 16, 1951, Genavieve was united in marriage to Elmer Nurmi in Wakefield. She was a faithful member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Wakefield.
