IRONWOOD — The first draft with architectural renderings of the Downtown City Square Project was presented at the Ironwood City Commission meeting Monday. Mike Foley, a project manager with Coleman Engineering, said the draft completed last week was the result of stakeholder meetings of local residents, city staff and engineers who all provided input for the project design. IRONWOOD, Mich. - Marjorie Bertini passed away on Jan. 25, 2020. Born on Aug. 23, 1926, to Earl and Fannie (Wanzer) Murley, she was a lifelong resident of Ironwood. After graduating from Luther L. IRONWOOD, Mich. - Ron L. Wilson, 85, of Ironwood passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, in Ironwood. Ron was born on July 18, 1934, in Birchwood, son of Leonard and Miriam (Buskanen) Wilson. He moved with his parents to San Francisco and later to Oakland, California, as a child. His father worked in the shipyards to support the war effort. WAKEFIELD, Mich. - James M. Stratman, 70, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, at his home. James was born on April 9, 1949, in Bessemer Township, the son of William F. and Margaret E. (Bolen) Stratman. He attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1967. James worked as a saw filer at Connor Lumber for 30 years and concluded his working career at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in maintenance. Carole was born on Dec. 31, 1933, in Minneapolis, a daughter of Everett H. and Ruth Elizabeth (Goyins) Williams. She attended Ironwood schools and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1952.
