WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield Volunteer Fire Department's annual ice fishing contest is set for Saturday, Feb. 18, during Michigan's free fishing weekend. The contest is held on Sunday Lake at the Wakefield VFW post from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds from the tourney will be used to purchase fire suppression equipment. IRONWOOD, Mich. - Thomas Erickson, 98, of Ironwood, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, Feb. 7, 2017, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood.
