    By PAT KRAUSE [email protected] WAKEFIELD - The annual Wakefield Volunteer Fire Department Ice Fishing Contest was held on Sunday Lake and in the Wakefield V.F.W. on Saturday during Michigan's free fishing weekend. The event brought out 350 adults and has a lot of appeal for the more than 125 kids who participated.     HURLEY - On a sunny Saturday, snowmobilers and local residents filled the Iron County Memorial Building to raise funds to groom the trails. The White Thunder Riders snowmobile club of Oma conducted its annual winter fund-raiser.     WAUPACA, Wis. — Mary Kapelka, 87, a long-time resident of Montreal, passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, in Waupaca, after a lengthy illness, with her family by her side. She was born in Wabeno, on Oct. 25, 1928, as Mary Sebero. She moved to Ironwood, Mich., with her mother shortly afterwards. Mary attended St. Ambrose Catholic School in Ironwood.
