    By CHARITY SMITH [email protected] WAKEFIELD — The Regional Hospice Services has been raising funds and bringing the community together through its annual polar plunge for the last 14 years. The annual event has people of all ages raising money to jump into freezing cold water. GLISSON [email protected] WAKEFIELD - Members of the Wakefield Township Board of Trustees voted Tuesday evening to approve their 2020-21 fiscal year budget, which included projected revenues of $224,520. The vote included approval of a 4.63 millage, which Supervisor John Cox said was unchanged from the previous year. The winning ticket at the senior class’ spaghetti and chicken dinner fundraiser Sunday at the Elk and Hound was Ticket No. 890698.     ONTONAGON, Mich. — Juana “Josie” Shamion was taken home by our Lord on March 1, 2020, in Ontonagon. She passed away quietly at home surrounded by her family. Josie was born on June 5, 1937, and raised in San Antonio, Texas, where she met her husband of 55 years, Ronald Shamion. She and Ron moved to Ontonagon in 1970 where his family lived. Throughout her life, Josie enjoyed fishing, dancing and cooking Mexican food with Ron. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and spent time visiting family in Texas.     IRONWOOD, Mich. - Clifford "Chip" Muhonen, 88, of Ramsay, passed away on Feb. 29, 2020. He was born May 5, 1931, in Ironwood, son of John and Helmi (Pasanen) Muhonen. He attended local schools and Gogebic Community College. Clifford worked at the Bessemer Creamery, Bessemer Plywood and retired from the White Pine Copper Mine.
