    BESSEMER — The Gogebic County Board of Commissioners last week approved two contract resolutions for the Gogebic-Iron Counties Airport. Airport board chair Jim Oliver, of Ironwood, said the resolutions pave the way for an annual improvement project at the airport that will include work on the taxiway from the main runway to the hangars. As usual, the federal and state governments will pick up nearly all of the tab for the project, with the county’s matching share only amounting to $1,547, according to Oliver. Phyllis was born on July 21, 1929, in Park Falls, Wis., to Anton and Anna (Pudlowski) Hodun. Following her graduation from high school, Phyllis worked as a long distance operator for the AT&T telephone company in Chicago, Ill. She then met and married George Kivi.     TOMAHAWK, Wis. - Roger William Gay, age 80, died peacefully on March 6, 2018 at Tomahawk Health Services. Roger was born on Feb. 3, 1938, in Paw Paw, Mich., to Eunice 'Chick' and Robert 'Red' Gay. He graduated from Ewen, Mich., schools in 1955 and went immediately into the Army.
